BlossUm Buddies may be born with several different combinations of markings and mutations, collectively known as genes and usually only one of each type. There might be several mutation genes, though, depending on which ones are able to be used together.

The types are color coded in the examples below. Working on making some new, updated images.

Which genes are dominant or ressessive has not been determined yet. I've listed them in potential order and you may notice that order is a bit different than before. I might still choose to simplify things if my sanity becomes threatened. *chuckle*

Please note: I am not doing hair *styles* anymore. It took me a long time to realize what was bothering me about my own creatures, but it finally dawned on me. The original BlossUm sketches did not have human hair styles, just tufts of plant-like fuzz or long tendrils. Hair styles made them too mammalian and human-like, so I'd like to go back to a more wild nature sprite feel. So far I've gotten agreements from friends and family, but I'd be open to listening to other opinions.

Accessories like earrings and scarves are clothing items, so they aren't listed under a gene type.
Hats are usually reserved for Holiday and Cosplay.

Bug Friends are little bugs that accompany the BlossUm Buddy. They are not used for breeding, even if they are a breeding type bug.

Custom genes are designed by you. They can be exclusive to your BlossUm with an extra cost.

Holiday Editions are only for holidays and are not under request, nor can they breed.

Animal Editions have specific flowers that relate to the animal and are not under request unless an animal custom slot opens. They are very rare and can not breed.

Cosplay Editions are Blossum Buddies in costume and are not under request unless a cosplay custom slot opens. They are very rare and can not breed.
